Introducing... Informed Spiritualism:
Informed Spiritualism – A grounded approach to spirituality rooted in reason, historical insight, and a pursuit of truth. It values deep understanding over trend, and seeks clarity, not confusion.
Love Christianity but don't wanna identify yourself as one (a Christian) because there's so much nuance and you see that modern-day Christianity has left off the original message? Informed Spiritualism might be for you lol. (Not limited to Christianity alone though.)
— Who Qualifies To Identify As A Informed Spiritualist?
Imo it's those who...
- Have studied their entire religious text (e.g., Bible, Quran) deeply and critically.
- Understands the historical context and evolution of their religion.
- Acknowledges where tradition and original teachings may differ.
- Questions doctrine when necessary, seeking truth over dogma.
- Practices their faith with intention, not just routine.
- Respects other belief systems but remains grounded in their own.
- Values both spiritual and intellectual growth.
- Seeks personal connection with the divine, not just institutional validation.
- Open to mystery, but not enslaved to it.
The opposite of this would be uninformed spiritualism:
Uninformed Spiritualism – A shallow, often trend-driven belief system lacking foundation or structure. It tends to chase feelings, vague energies, or mysticism without accountability, clarity, or direction. Think angel numbers, crystal healing, etc.— that's uninformed spiritualism.
